As part of Bermuda Art Month, experience Verdmont through art, objects, craftsmanship and stories at a special Open House for all ages.

An African Diaspora Heritage Trail site, Verdmont preserves the histories of the people who lived and worked here, including the enslaved Black Bermudians whose labour, skills and knowledge sustained the house and estate.

Discover these histories through Verdmont’s collections and spaces—and through the work of Bermudian artists and makers today.

Meet Bermudian artists and makers, watch them at work and take part in the creative process.

ART ENCOUNTERS
Look more closely at Verdmont’s portraits, furniture, decorative arts and culinary heritage. Explore what they reveal about artistry, craftsmanship, labour and everyday life—and discover stories and makers too often left out of the picture.

GUIDED VERDMONT TOURS — 11:00 am & 1:00 pm
Explore the historic house, detached kitchen and garden and discover the stories of the free and enslaved people who lived, worked and created at Verdmont.

FAMILY ART-MAKING — 10:00 am –3:00 pm
Look, Discover & Create! Make art inspired by Verdmont’s people, objects, architecture and natural environment, with the opportunity to develop an entry for the BNT Student Art Competition sponsored by SOMPO.

Parking: Verdmont Lane entrance. Overflow Parking at St. Patrick’s Church, 23 South Road and it’s a short walk up the hill.
